Our story begins in 2012, when Norrie Daroga, a leader in elder care marketing, and Mark Stephen Meadows, an innovator who had literally written the book on avatars, joined forces to create Geppetto Avatars. Their mission? To make technology more human—functional, interactive, and compassionate. By 2015, they gained access to the cutting-edge IBM Watson AI platform, launching a fully interactive virtual health assistant that set new standards for patient engagement across North America. While Mark has since moved on to pursue new ventures, Norrie remains at the helm, pushing innovation forward.

But the roots of CodeBaby go back even further. Founded in 2001 by two visionary doctors in Canada, CodeBaby revolutionized how businesses engaged with their audiences. With proprietary animation tools and a deep understanding of emotional engagement, CodeBaby created beautifully animated tutorials and interactive experiences for Fortune 500 companies in healthcare, finance, eCommerce, and beyond. By combining storytelling, gaming expertise, and emotional intelligence, CodeBaby helped businesses captivate audiences and drive meaningful connections.

In 2016, Geppetto Avatars—by then operating as idAvatars—acquired CodeBaby. The integration of CodeBaby’s animation tools with idAvatars’ advanced AI technology marked the beginning of something special: a seamless blend of empathy, technology, and engagement. Recognizing the strength of CodeBaby’s legacy and innovation, the company proudly embraced the name CodeBaby moving forward.
